Logodor claim Women’s All-Russian Beach Soccer Cup

The Muscovite side upset Zvezda in a final that had to be decided from the penalty kick spot

The players and coaches of Logodor will have a special memory of this 2021 International women’s Day, as this 8th of March was the day in which they snatched the Women’s All-Russian Beach Soccer Cup.

Energia MEI (Moscow) got its first victory in the tournament, bringing them to the final seventh place. This win is the first win in the history of the team at high-level competitions.

Drive32-BGUOR (Bryansk) beat Zadornye (Moscow) in a duel for the 5th place. The main time of the match ended with a score of 6:6, but in overtime, Milana Ulanovskaya scored two goals to give Drive32-BGUOR so desired victory.

In the game for the third place, Moscow prevailed over Saint Petersburg, with Strogino running past Groza to clinch the bronze. The fight ended with a score of 4:1.

The final between Zvezda (St. Petersburg) and Logodor (Moscow) was intended to become a real decoration of the whole tournament. The Muscovite side, led by the competition’s MVP and Top Scorer Varvara Bychkova, upset the BSC Zvezda in a truly hard-fought final in Korolev. Her two goals equalized Alekseeva’s and Petrova’s efforts for the girls from Saint Petersburg, and the game went to the penalty kick shootout.
