Egypt became third in 2018 African Cup

On Friday, December 14 Egypt defeated Morocco with a score of 3:2 in a bronze medal game in Sharm el-Sheikh. African Cup was also a world qualifier to 2019 World Cup which will take place in Paraguay.

First period was scoreless. Mohamed Abdelnabi opened scoring with a close shot only in the middle of second period. Morocco came back in three minutes, but by then Egypt took the lead again after Mohamed Ali took a good shot. Ali socred another goal at the start of third period and, as we found out later, scored the winning goal. Nassim el Hadui managed to score a goal for Morocco but there was no time to equalize.

Thus, Egypt for the fourth time in its history became the bronze medalist of the African Cup. Previously, the Egyptians managed to get into the top three in 2006, 2011 and 2016. Moroccans finished fourth for the second time in a row.
