The high status of beach soccer in Russia makes the Russian championship very attractive for European players. German footballer David Hoeveler also shared such an opinion in an interview with NGZ Online.
"The Russian league is super strong. Big clubs have their beach soccer schools and stadiums that can accommodate a large number of spectators. In Russia, our sport has a completely different status than in Germany," - Hoeveler said.
David Hoeveler was called up for the German national team for the first time in 2019. He played seven matches for the national team.
In December 2020, German Football Union announced that they decided to suspend the German beach soccer team's activities.
