The low average age of the Spanish national team players at training camps can be explained by the desire of the main coach to allow the young players to learn from the experience of their senior colleagues.
“It was training camps, where the technical and tactical aspects of the game were secondary, so we were able to invite as many players as possible to train with experienced players. Our task is to ensure the continuity between generations in the national team, so it is the format of the training camp, which is ideal for us. In the future, we will reduce the list of called-up players, inviting those who will show themselves in the best way and more precisely working on the right aspects of preparation. It will allow us to create the most efficient team for the World Cup qualifiers”, — said the Spanish national team head coach Christian Méndez.
Méndez also said that the Spanish national team plans to hold two or three more training camps before starting the qualifying tournament for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2021 in Russia.
The training camp of the Spanish national team will be held between 23-28 February. The team roster will include 20 players.
