The national team of El Salvador beat Costa Rica 3-1 in the first of two planned friendly matches. It was reported by El Grafico.
The first goal for the Salvadoran team was scored by the newcomer Oscar Cruz.
“I am thrilled to get the opportunity to score my first goal in the national team. It’s nice to be here. We have great potential,” - said Cruz.
The head coach of the team, Rudis Gallo, noted that his team will have to work harder since the players still make mistakes in the attack.
“We are missing many opportunities, and it is the main problem. We could have the easier game but did not use our chances. Playing the World Cup matches, we will not have such a luxury”, — commented Gallo.
The second match between El Salvador and Costa Rica will be played today, 16 February.
